In Room 410, a line of text appears on the floor that reads "Threshold of Consciousness". Once the player passes this line, a mysterious cat appears in front of a grandfather clock located in the middle of the room and asks the player if they are lost. The player can then choose to go down the western, northern, or eastern hallway in this same room. The White Cat will be found in all of the rooms the player can access, with different dialogue each time she's encountered.
The eastern hallway connects to one room that contains complex wall structures with moving, galaxy-like textures, giving the illusion that the player is in an endless void.
The western hallway leads to two rooms: The door on the right side leads to a room with pink and-yellow textured walls and floor and a white ceiling. In this room, the player is greeted with two points of interest: red, worm-like creatures on the ground, going perpetually back and forth; and a demonic looking compass which is constantly pointing at the player - both being purely cosmetic.
The door on the left side leads into a office building in a city. Distant phone calls can be heard, and 2D textured windows can be found on the western wall. On the other end of the room is a computer which shows the following rapidly alternating lines of text: "Put on your mask", "Be who you are to others", "Be part of something", "Become more than yourself", and "Follow the group".
When going towards the northern hallway and into the door, the player will enter a dark room with The White Cat standing in the center and an illuminated door. Interacting with The White Cat results with it warning the player the danger that lays ahead. Upon opening the door, the player will enter a blood red, rotating hallway. After exiting this room Specimen 7 will appear and chase the player for several rooms, before the room layout returns to normal.
In HD Renovation[]
For the HD Renovation of the game, the player doesn't start in Room 410, instead starting in Room 406. Now, there will be a hallway with the threshold of consciousness sign on the floor. The player will have to run into the wall, breaking through it, and into a large room with a huge grandfather clock from the original game in the middle of it.
On each side is all the doors for the other rooms. The player must enter a door which leads to the normal room layouts until Room 410. In these few rooms, other Specimens may give chase, albeit for a very short time. A red fog is also present in the main room that will get thicker as the player progresses from Room 410 through 421.
The player will do this 3 times, coming back to the main room at Rooms 410, 415, and 421. Then, on the last side of the main room, a door can be opened which will lead to the dark room, leading to Room 422, which then leads to the chase starting at Room 423.

Trivia[]
- Before the 2.7 update, the rooms in which Specimen 7 chases the player did not count: the counter simply remained at Room 410.
